More Recent Makes.

Hi
Hope everyone is keeping well and staying safe. Sorry not to have blogged for a few days, along with crafting, I’ve been at work. One of the lucky ones, I’m grateful I can still go out to work during these times, caring for our residents at the retirement village where I work.
I thought I’d share a few cards with you, which I hadn’t got around to blogging, but wanted them to have their day on the blog.

The first card was one I made for my sister-in-law’s Birthday. I used Sue Wilson’s ‘Hamilton’ die from the New Zealand collection. I cut the shape twice into the cream card, and then cut again using its outer edge to use as the focal point. The patterned papers are from Anna Marie Designs ‘Blissful Cotton’. The flower is by Sue Wilson and the sentiment from Just Rite Stamps.

The second card, I made to participate in a blog challenge over on the Cotswold Crafter blog. It was a tic tac toe challenge and I chose punch or die cut, patterned paper and floral. Again, I’ve used Anna Marie Designs papers in ‘Blissful Teal’. The curved borders are from Spellbinders as well as the medallion which the Crafters Companion flower sits on. The LOTV sentiment was stamped onto the Sue Wilson pierced flag dies.

The third card uses Sue Wilson’s ‘Scandinavian’ background die and the ‘Hamilton’ die again, layered with ‘Blissful Teal papers. The circle sentiment is from LOTV.

I hope you like them. Thanks for stopping by. Stay safe.

Mother’s Day Card

Hi

As promised, I’m back today sharing one of my recent makes. I really enjoyed making this card, using the beautiful Garden Blooms papers by Anna Marie Designs. I purchased these on my recent trip to Create It at Farnborough and as soon as I saw them I knew I had to have them! I used these with my new butterfly die from Tim Holtz, making them perfect for Mother’s Day cards.
I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Loving these papers.....

Hi. I would like to share a couple of cards I made using the beautiful 'Blissful" papers by Anna Marie Designs. I was lucky enough to purchase 3 of these paper pads - I chose Teal, Cocoa and Cotton. I absolutely love these muted colours and beautiful designs  (the pictures don't do them justice)
Both cards are made using designs from the Cocoa papers, and as they are so pretty they just had to be used to make Mothers Day cards. The main focal die is the 'Sophia' die from Crafter's Companion create a card range. I hope you like them.
I have another card in the making, so will be back again soon to share that with you too. Thanks for stopping by.

Own Your Dreams.

Hi. I'd been looking on Pinterest and kept coming across Prima Dolls by Julie Nutting, featured on some beautiful creations. Of course, I just had to order a couple of these lovely 'doll' stamps. Waiting for my order to arrive, I went through my stash and found some plain die cut ladies which I had purchased in the past and decided to see what I could come up with.
I used some pretty papers for my background, which are from Prima Marketing. The glittered black dress came with the die cuts, but I cut a hat out of pink paper and added the small flower. The large flower is from Crafter's Companion, Floral Delight Collection - Pretty Petals. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz - Small Talk pad.
I haven't had a chance to play with my new stamps yet, but am hoping to do so in the next couple of days :-)
Thanks for stopping by.

'Thanks' So Very Much.

Hi. Sorry its been nearly a couple of weeks since my last post. I am so happy with the huge response that my card for Set Craft received. I had loads of lovely comments on here and Set's Facebook page, and well over 1000 views on here too! I am ecstatic, and can't thank you enough :-)
So here is a little Thank You card which I made. It was for one of Sandra's sketch challenges over at Cotswold Crafter. We had to use a die for our card base. I chose Sue Wilson's Auckland die from the New Zealand Collection and just layered it up. Two Delicate Daisies finish it off.
This card goes out to all of you, with my heartfelt thanks. I hope you like it :-)

Snowflake Filigree Frame.

Hi.
I was honoured to be asked by Ben at Set Craft to make a card using the Snowflake Filigree Frame from Sue Wilson's new Festive Collection. I was so excited about this challenge so decided to make two cards to show the versatility of these dies and I'm happy to share them here with you :-)

For my first card I cut the inner die twice (without the outer cutting edge), overlapping them onto a piece of white cardstock cut from the Noble Double Pierced Squares. I backed this with some double sided sticky adhesive and red card. Then added some Iced Snow Glitter Jewels from Cosmic Shimmer onto the front for some Christmas sparkle! I cut the die out again twice in white using the outer cutting edge. The centre die cut was backed in red and glittered again, and the other cut was popped behind this, turned around the other way so just the edges show through. I cut the snowflake oval twice and stuck them together to have the snowflake at both ends. The sentiment was stamped onto the small oval from the Lattice Snowflake and this was added onto the Snowflake Tag, finished off with two red diamond gems.

For my second card I wanted to show how this die set doesn't have to be used just for Christmas. I have used the same concept as the Christmas card with the die underneath the focal element, but this time the die cut has been cut in half and placed under the Regal Striplet. The Delicate Daisies - Open Petals cover the snowflake edges on the frame. The Best Wishes sentiment is trimmed down from the Triple Best Wishes die.

I hope you like them both as much as I enjoyed making them.
A big Thank you to Set Craft, I had so much fun with this challenge :-)

Framed Background.

Hi. Today I'd like to share a card where I have changed the size and shape of the background die to be used with my other dies. I recently purchased Sue Wilson's Noble - Double Pierced Squares - Set B, from Set Craft. These dies are fabulous for frames or just as matting and layering squares. I love them and am so pleased I now have them in my stash :-)
I cut the Copenhagen Background die - from Sue Wilson's Scandinavian Collection - and backed it with some double sided adhesive sheet, and glittered with fine irridescent glitter. I cut a frame from the Noble squares to the size I wanted and cut my background to fit nicely within the frame. I then cut two larger squares to layer up behind. These were just mounted on a plain cut square. The flowers are Sue Wilson's Delicate Daisies - Open Petals. The centres are a small circle die, cut and glittered on top again with double sided adhesive. I finished the card off with one of the Triple Best Wishes - from Sue's Perspective Collection - cut to size. I hope you like it.
I also made a Christmas card, using the same background technique and I shall be posting that in the next couple of days. I would love for you to pop back to see it :-)
Thanks for stopping by.

Challenge Card Selection.

Hi. Apologies for not blogging for a few weeks, I hadn't realised how long it had been. Today I thought I'd share with you some of the cards I have made to take part in various challenges over on Cotswoldcrafter blog. This fabulous blog is hosted by the lovely Sandra, and I have been made very welcome by all its friendly members. There is a beautiful array of cards and crafts on display and a new sketch challenge every Monday. Sandra has also recently introduced a mid week mini challenge every other week which gets our minds thinking of other ideas for using our vast ranges of crafty stash. If you have a few minutes to spare pop on over and say hi, you won't be disappointed! :-)

This was my first sketch challenge card.

Some more Sketch challenge cards.

The next cards are from Sandra's recently introduced mini challenges.

This challenge was to use an older die which hadn't been used in the last 6 months.

This was to use the Bokeh effect on our card.

This was to use an embossing folder(s) and no dies. I found this one very challenging! ;-)

Thank you for stopping by today.

Something A Little Different.

Hi. I had been browsing through Pinterest to get some ideas for making a little keepsake for Mum and Dad's Anniversary. I happened to come across some exploding box cards with little cakes inside, so decided on making a little celebratory keepsake cake.
I made the tiered boxes out of heavyweight cardstock and decorated with patterned papers from The Promise collection by First Edition papers - Trimcraft. The square bases were cut from dies and framed with gold glitter cardstock. I added a trim of flowers around the tops of each tier, adding tiny die cut glittered circles to the centres. The glittered 50 - Memory Box - Parker Numbers dies - was adhered to acetate to stand it up.  I glittered the rose and added to the top and finished off with 3 hearts along the middle tier.
I am really pleased with how it turned out being my first attempt, and Mum and Dad absolutely loved it :-)
Thanks for stopping by.

Congratulations Mum and Dad.

Hi. Todays the day!! Congratulations to my lovely Mum and Dad on their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary. I have been crafting for this special day for the last couple of months, and today I would like to share the card I made for my family to give them.
This card was my first proper attempt at using gilding flakes. I backed the Scandinavian background and the Regal Striplet dies by Sue Wilson with a double sided adhesive sheet and adhered Cosmic Shimmer's Egyptian Gold gilding flakes on top to make my background. This was matted onto layers of mirri card and plain cardstock. I cut the Delicate Daisies - Open Petals by Sue Wilson to make three flowers - the little centre circles have also been given the gilding flake treatment. The Celebrate die by Crafters Companion, Sara Davies Signature Collection - Together Forever was cut from gold mirri. The '50' also cut in mirri is Memory Box - Parker Numbers.
I am so pleased with the final result and love the effect of the gilding flakes.
Today is also one of my Nieces Birthdays, and the card I made for her will been shown in the week. I am looking forward to spending the day with all the family, celebrating this special day with our wonderful Mum and Dad.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a lovely day whatever you are doing

Love Gives Us A Fairytale.....

Hi. As promised last week, I would like to start sharing with you the creations I have been making for my Mum and Dad's Golden Wedding Anniversary. These have kept me busy over the last few months, and I can't believe how quickly it has come round. The big day is on Saturday, and although Mum and Dad didn't want a fuss with no surprise party, we are looking forward to spending the day as a family and celebrating their special day together.
First up is the card I made for my Dad to give my Mum. I love the sentiment on this, as I truly believe  that my parents have a wonderful marriage and after fifty years they are still very much in love. The sentiment is from Creative Expressions - Wedding Greetings set. I have used Sue Wilson's Regal striplet for the background. The circle frames are from the Italian Collection - Decorative frames. The couple are a die cut I purchased already cut in a pack. The smaller sentiment - Special Day - is from JustRite Stamps. The flowers by Robert Addams are topped with the tiny heart off cuts from the circle frame. The numbers are from the Parker numbers set by Memory Box.
Hope you like it. I will be back again soon to share the card I made for my Mum to give my Dad.
Thanks for stopping by.
