Loving Wishes.

Hi. Today I am sharing a card I made for my Dad to give my Mum on Mother's Day. Even after all these years I still think its so lovely that my Dad likes to give my Mum a card on this day :-) 

I have used a LOTV image from one of the art pads, still got a few of these to use even though they are now discontinued. The main die is Auckland from Sue Wilson's New Zealand Collection. I just love the shape of this. I have used two different types of flowers, firstly the Delicate Daisies - Open Petals, by Sue Wilson and secondly Floral Delight collection, Pretty Petals by Crafter's Companion. I think they work really well together. I finished off the centre of each flower with a small circle die cut. The patterned paper is from First Edition Paper called Gilded Winter. This is a lovely paper pad, full of gorgeous designs.

Mixed Media Butterfly

Hi. Thought I would share something I have been working on over the weekend. I wanted to try doing some mixed media, something which I love the look of, but have never really got right into before. I didn't really know where to start, as after browsing You Tube my head was spinning with so many different ideas. So I thought I'd start with something simple.

I bought a couple of blank mini albums a while back, so decided I'd decorate one for myself. So far I have finished the front cover, and white washed the pages with acrylic paint. I inked a piece of watercolour card with Distress inks, blending purples with blue. I spritzed the whole sheet with water, and shimmer mists. I then brushed some acrylic mixed with Distress ink lightly over this. I cut a panel for the front cover, and also the butterfly and honeycomb die from this one sheet. I added some texture to the front panel with embossing paste, which once dry I then spritzed with more shimmer mists, and then sponged over more of my inks. The edges of the panel and the butterfly were heat embossed with purple metallic embossing powder. I added the stamped sentiment to an offcut of the watercolour card.

 Its starting to take shape and so far I am really pleased with the results. Looking forward to getting it all finished and being able to add some special photos inside.

Love Hearts.

Hi. Sorry I haven't posted for a few days, have been busy with work. Todays is a quick post just to share with you a couple more Valentines cards I made.

 The first one is the one I made for my Mum to give my Dad. I used a new heart strip die and embossing folder by Marianne Design, perfect for Valentines and anything Love! The little elephants stamp is from Little Claires. I can't remember where the sentiment is from, but I love it.

The second card on show today is the one I made for my Hubby.  Again I used some new dies from Crafters Companion - Love and Romance, from Signature Collection by Sara Davies. The papers are from the Devoted range by Carta Bella.

True Love.

Hi. Today I am sharing a Valentines card. The lucky recipient will be my Mum, from my Dad :-) I make cards for them to give each other on every occasion, and each time I like to do something different so they don't end up with loads of similar cards. Believe me it isn't always easy!!

Anyway, onto the card. The cardstock is from Carta Bella - the patterned one from the Paris Girl range by Samantha Walker, and the pink one from the Devoted range by Carina Gardner. Both are double sided and mix and match perfectly. I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Paper Distresser Tool. I cut out the Heart frame (without the outer circular cutting frame) from Sue Wilsons Italian Collection - Decorative Frames, and then cut the whole piece in half. I wanted to have some of the pretty pattern showing through, and love this effect! Sue Wilsons main Copenhagen die from the Scandinavian Collection was cut out in pink (without the backing piece). On top of this I added a circle (from the patterned card) and a glittered cardstock heart frame. It is difficult to see, but I backed the heart with the smallest cut out square from Sue Wilsons Times Square set from the New York Collection. This was again cut from the patterned card. You can just see the top of it poking out behind the flower. The flower die is from Cheery Lynn Designs. I cut it twice and shaped it slightly with a ball tool and layered it up. A small glittered circle was added to the flower centre. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley, stamped onto the pink card and hand cut out. Notice the little pink heart? That's one of the little cut outs from the heart frame! :-)

Happy with the way it turned out, and I think my Mum will love it.

Pretty Birthday Wishes.

Hi.

Today I would like to share a Birthday card I made for a friend. I wanted something pretty and feminine and think that these dies, together with the image, provide a very pleasing result! 

The dies are by Sue Wilson - yes I love these dies, and use them frequently as they are so versatile! Sue has just released a fabulous set of new dies, and once again my wish list is getting longer ;-)

The circular heart frame is one of the Decorative Frames, from the Italian Collection. I love this as the little hearts cut out, and I have a stash of these in various colours! They are great as extra little embellishments, and I have also used them in shaker cards along with sequins.

The four corner squares are the smallest square from the Times Square set, from the New York Collection.

The flowers are the second smallest from the Camellia Complete Petals set, from the Finishing Touches Collection. I shaped them slightly with a ball tool and added a small circle in the centre.

The sentiment - a stamp I found in my stash - is cut out with the smallest oval from the Copenhagen set, from the Scandinavian Collection.

The image is from one of the Lili of the Valley art pads - which have unfortunately now been discontinued.

Hi. Am back again today to share a Thank you card. Was quick and easy to make, so will be making more of these, as you can never have too many thank you cards in your stash! Its also a thank you to everyone who takes the time to visit my blog - I really do appreciate it :-)

The stamp is the Floral Doodle Square from the Stamps to Die For range by Sue Wilson and the sentiment is from Creative Expressions. I embellished the sentiment square with Iced Snow Glitter Jewels by Cosmic Shimmer. The inside edge of the cut out square is adorned with the sides and corners cut up from the Copenhagen die from the Scandinavian Collection, also by Sue Wilson. These dies are so versatile, and great to work with.
